Biography
SKROU (pronounced screw) is a Canadian band whose moniker is derived from frontman and founder Sam Kirou’s name. They are a hard rock foursome made up of Sam Kirou, Drummer Anthony “The Terminator” Terminesi, bassist Robb Marchildon and guitarist Rob De Santis.
Sam started singing at 15 and then was an integral part in forming Hollywood Zoo which played some of the biggest venues in Toronto at the time. Mainstays on the scene, they performed several times at the El Mocambo and the Gasworks, including as openers for Steve Madden & Reckless and with Canadian Heavy metal act “Anvil” playing the first ever Metal Show at “The Diamond Club”.
Fast forward to forming his own band called SKROU – with the distinction of having opened for bands such as Helix, Honeymoon Suite, Buckcherry, Goddo, Teenage Head, Michael Schenker & Gypsy Rose.
Robb, also a founding member of Hollywood Zoo, slung on the bass at the age of 15 and has been playing ever since. He’s been a part of numerous rock and metal bands over the years, playing live and recording with them as well.
Rob started playing guitar at a young age, performing in his first bar gig at age 14. He has played live in bands spanning genres of jazz, big band, R&B, and metal. Together with Sam and Robb, he is a founding member of Hollywood Zoo.
SKROU is currently working on a follow up to their 2014 debut album and 2019 EP release
